Buses between smaller towns and villages are less frequent but offer at least a regular daily stop. The longest bus ride between Belize City and Punta Gorda averages out to about US$11. Many of the national parks and Mayan sites are located along the main highways and it is usually possible to make a stop and get back on a later bus. Be sure to talk with the conductor and/or personnel at Visitor Information centers located in most towns to make these arrangements.
