An excellent way to save money is to carefully select where you stay while you're in Belize. Less expensive rooms, lodges, cabanas and even beach huts are all within reach, and can range from $15 to $50 per night. The coastal areas and cayes have many small and simple establishments that offer adequate and inexpensive rooms and cabanas. While traveling the interior, consider the eco-resorts and campgrounds that offer prices as low as just a few dollars per night in some spectacular settings. Food and Drink

The best way to save money on eating and drinking is to stick with the local fare at smaller restaurants, a tasty and inexpensive way to go. Meals begin at about US$1.50 for breakfast, US$2.50 for lunch and $4 for dinner. Local brews and rums are widely available and are significantly less expensive than the imported selection.
