Getting Around

Overview

Hanover is easy to walk around: it's only a 20-minute stroll from the Hauptbahnhof to the Sprengel Museum and the northern end of the Maschsee. Of course, you don't have to walk, there are plenty of buses and trams that run all over the city, the trams sometimes travelling underground. There are three zones: Hanover, Umland and Region. Both single tickets and day passes are available. The S-Bahn No 5 makes the trip from the airport to the Hauptbahnhof in 16 minutes. To get to the fairgrounds, switch to the U-Bahn No 8 (17 minutes).
