Kirklareli's Black Sea Coast is a nice place to enjoy beaches and good fish. Igneada, 98 km east of Kirklareli, lies sandwhiched between sandy shores and the Yildiz mountains. Kiyikoy (Midye) is another holiday resort town with good accommodation and picturesque dwellings from the Middle Ages. Also on the European Black Sea coast, only 35 km from Istanbul, are the sandy beaches motels, hotels, and camping.

Hiking in the Kackar Mountains, Rize

Across the Bosphorus lies Sile, which has long sand beaches, overlooked by remains of Genoese Castle, attract many visitors. Cotton blouses and shirts are sewn and embroidered here, as well as tourists from Istanbul spend a joyful night in excellent restaurants.

Inland from the coast, the rolling hills and peaceful woods make an excellent area for horseback riding. Agva, on the banks of a river as well as on the shores of the Black Sea, is surrounded by lovely scenery, ideal for hiking and camping activities.Bolu, Inland between Ankara and Istanbul hosts modern thermal facilites and thermal alpine surroundings make this place ideal for exercise, a breath of fresh air, camping and hiking.

Kartalkaya, one of Turkey's major ski resorts is in the Koroglu Mountains. Summertime activities can consist of camping, on-site picnic facing Golcuk Lake. Bolu is famous for its world-renowed eatery and chefs and hosts the annual Mengen Chefs' Festival in August.

Cakraz Plateau, Giresun

Lake Efteni in Konuralp, 45 km west of Bolu, is ideal spot for Bird Watchers.Alapli is an ideal place for water sports, especially sailing and surfing.

Karabuk, being one of the most important industrial centers in Turkey, is known for its iron and steel industry. Apart from this, it also hosts Camlik, a perfect place for rest and relaxation, as well as feed the adrenaline rush through parachuting from the Sorgun cliff.Zonguldak, as being famous for its tunnels, holds the strawberry festival annualy in the spring. Aside from aromatic strawberry scents during the season, tourists can experience a piece of history among the ruins of the famous Troy (from the Trojan Wars). Along the way, Inkum has been developed into a holiday village with a sandy beach, restaurant and guest houses to accomodate residential needs.

Fishing Boats, Sinop

Continuing eastward along the coast, you can arrive at Cakraz, a fishing village with excellent beaches and fine restaurants.Cakraz and Inebolu have steep mountainsides and offer a spectacular panoramic view.

About 41 km west of Kastamonu, Comlekciler village has traditional timber houses and farms offering country horseback riding tours. About 63 km south of Kastamonu, Ilgaz National Park, a delightful protected area in the Ilgaz Mountains with a ski center and good accomodations.

Ilgarini Cave, is one of the largest caves in Turkey and accommodate the trekking and exploration facilities for tourists.

Travelling along the Eastern Black Sea Coast, you arrive Camgolu, a large forest which slopes to the sea, has camping sites, guest facilities and restaurants. The next stop, Bafra, is a town famous for its tobacco, caviar and thermal springs. Along the way, the Bafra - Kizilirmak Delta Marsh provides refuge to over 300 species of birds with a total of 100,000 birds wintering there.

Near Trabzon, south of Akcaabat, the lovely highland meadowsof Karadag, Hidirnebi and Erekbeli are ideal for hiking and picnics. Southeast of Trabzon is Lake Uzungol, a lovely alpine lake surrounded by mountains and meadows, excellent for camping, hiking and fishing.

Kackar Mountains range, located near Rize, is one of the best and most challenging for climbers in Turkey. Along the way, Camburnu coast is covered with golden pine trees where many species of migrating birds stop, and it is a lovely area for resting and picturetaking.
