Canons Ashby House The home of the Dryden family since its construction, this Elizabethan manor house has survived more or less unaltered since about 1710. Harrington Aviation Museums Located on the Headquarters site of the wartime airfield at Harrington. Museum exhibits depict the secret roles of the USAAF “Carpetbagger” Group, American OSS and British SOE during World War 2; the Cold War deployment of Thor missile at Harrington; the roles of the Royal Observer Corps and air war in Northamptonshire. Holdenby House, Gardens and Falconry Centre Just across the fields from Althorp, Holdenby House provides a regal background for a beautiful garden and a magnificent Falconry Centre, where you can watch birds of prey being flown by our trained falconers. Kirby Hall Kirby Hall is an outstanding example of a large, stone-built Elizabethan mansion, begun in 1570 with 17th Century alterations. Indeed, Jane Austen’s ’Mansfield Park’ was filmed here. Northampton Museum and Art Gallery The museum houses the largest collection of footwear in the world, other collections include decorative arts, Italian 15th – 18th century paintings and British art, Northampton’s history from Stone Age to the present date. Wicksteed Park We have 147 acres of lakes and parkland with rides and attractions open from April to September. There are various function rooms available for hire all year round, and a civil ceremony wedding license is held. |
